Leicester City and Arsenal lock horns in the pick of the Carabao Cup third-round ties at the King Power Stadium on Wednesday evening.
Leicester City welcome Arsenal to the King Power Stadium in the most ‘high profile’ clash of the Carabao Cup third round games.
The Foxes have started their season well once again and currently lead the top of the pile on goal difference. Rodgers’ side opened their campaign with a 3-0 away victory over West Bromwich Albion. More recently, they recorded a 4-2 home victory over Burnley.
In a similar fashion, Arsenal also have a 100 per cent league record so far this season. All of that is courtesy of a 3-0 win at Fulham and a 2-1 win at home to West Ham United. In summary, a close contest is expected at the King Power Stadium.
However, both sides have upcoming crunch fixtures next. Leicester City play Manchester City for their next outing while Arsenal take on reigning champions Liverpool. With that in mind, we can expect some rotation from both sides.
Leicester form
Leicester will be confident going into the fixture against the Gunners. The Foxes have won their opening two games of the season and even better, they did so in style. Seven goals in the space of two games show they have no problems scoring so far and that could come in handy for them.
The likes of Jamie Vardy and Harvey Barnes have played starring roles for the Foxes in their opening games although it remains to be seen if the pair will start. Even without Vardy, Rodgers still has enough firepower upfront in Kelechi Iheanacho. The Nigerian has been involved in 11 goals in 14 Carabao Cup appearances for the Foxes. He will look to build on that impressive stat.
Leicester are unbeaten in their last five games (including friendlies) up to this one and will fancy their chances of extending their run.
Key Team Stats

Arsenal form
Arsenal find themselves in a similar limbo to the Foxes. They finished last season on a good note with an FA Cup triumph over Chelsea. They started the current one with a Community Shield win over Liverpool as well.
The Gunners are also unbeaten in their last five games going into this clash. With Arsenal taking on Liverpool next, Arteta could also be forced to rest some players. However, the Spanish manager did say he will take the competition serious regardless.
Squad depth will be vital to both sides and the Gunners boast better options than Leicester on paper in that regard. The likes of Eddie Nketiah, Nicolas Pepe and Bukayo Saka could feature in a heavily rotated lineup at the King Power Stadium. David Luiz could also feature in defence for the Gunners.

- Arsenal have seen over 2.5 goals in 4 of their last 5 matches (all competitions).

Team News
Leicester: In defence, Ricardo Pereira and Jonny Evans are unavailable for the Foxes due to injury.
Brendan Rodgers is expected to ring in some changes with the duo of Wes Morgan and Christian Fuchs likely to come in at the back.
Further up the pitch, Hamza Choudhury and forward Kelechi Iheanacho will most likely get the nod.
Arsenal: In defence, the Gunners have up to four names on the treatment table. Shkodran Mustafi, Sokratis, Pablo Mari and Callum Chambers are all recovering from injuries. Elsewhere, Kieran Tierney is also a doubt. David Luiz and William Saliba could make for Arteta’s back pairing.
Moving further up, Mesut Ozil is yet to feature in the Premier League this season. The German is fully fit and could get a nod. Further upfront, Gabriel Martinelli remains out injured and the likes of Nketiah and Pepe could lead the attack.
