It is time to take a look at the Group F Champions League fixture between Lazio and Borussia Dortmund at Stadio Olimpico.

Ciro Immobile returned to spook his former team as Lazio beat Borussia Dortmund by 3-1. Evidently, the marksman netted a goal along with one assist to open the account for the Roman side.

Right at the beginning of the game, Immobile slot it past Marwin Hitz in the 6th minute. Consequently, Lucas Leiva intercepted the ball, while just before Joaquin Correa’s assist to the Italian striker.

Immobile did not make any mistake and put the ball behind the net with a calm finish.

Subsequently, the Dortmund goalkeeper suffered from an unfortunate own goal halfway through the first half.

However, Dortmund recovered from the first half misery midway in the second half.

In the 71st minute, Erling Haaland blasted one for the visitors from the 6-yard box. The US international Giovanni Reyna came off the bench to assist his teammate after a counter-attack from Dortmund.

Although, Lazio put an end to the match just six minutes later. Substitute Jean-Daniel Akpa Akpro received a sublime pass from Immobile to finish it past Hitz.

Nonetheless, Lazio did not play any Champions League group stage game since the 2007-08 season. Though, now the club is on the top of the table with Club Brugge on the second who won vs Zenit St. Petersburg.
