The Blues full-back limped off just 10 minutes into the club’s Premier League match against West Ham on Monday night.
Frank Lampard has confirmed Ben Chilwell suffered an ankle problem and is a doubt for Chelsea’s trip to Arsenal on Boxing Day.
The full-back, who celebrated his 24th birthday on Monday, had a collision with West Ham midfielder Jarrod Bowen in the early stages of Chelsea’s 3-0 win. After the club’s medical staff treated him on the pitch, he attempted to continue.

But Chilwell went down again and was seen clutching his right ankle before Lampard replaced him with Emerson in the 10th-minute of the match.
“I expect he [Chilwell] will be doubtful for Arsenal,” confirmed the Blues boss in his post-match conference at Stamford Bridge.
“He turned his ankle, tried to carry on but it was too painful so we’ll have a scan or whatever tomorrow and try to see how bad he is.
“Reece [James] and Chilly have been doing really well so we hope both their injuries are not too bad and they’ll be in and around those two games over Christmas.”
Reece James had to withdraw from the West Ham game himself with a knee injury. Cesar Azpilicueta replaced him in the right-back spot for only his fourth start of the Premier League season.
Thiago Silva, meanwhile, put Chelsea ahead in only the 10th-minute against West Ham with a powerful header. Tammy Abraham later scored a second-half brace to seal all three points for the hosts.
Lampard’s men are now fifth in the Premier League table and six points behind pacesetters Liverpool.
