The Blues boss had some positive news to share on the pair following Tuesday’s Champions League match.
Frank Lampard has announced Hakim Ziyech and Callum Hudson-Odoi’s hamstring injuries are not as serious as first feared, and he’s hopeful the pair could return next week.
Ziyech limped off in the opening half-hour of Chelsea’s 3-1 win against Leeds United last weekend. Lampard confirmed he sustained a hamstring problem, but was hopeful it was only a ‘minor injury’.
Hudson-Odoi, meanwhile, suffered a similar injury in the build-up to the club’s Champions League clash with Krasnodar in training.
“Both players are hopefully going to be fit for a week on Wednesday,” said Lampard in a post-match conference on Tuesday after the Blues’ draw against Krasnodar.
“They had scans which are showing the injuries will be two weeks, so that’s positive, particularly with Hakim.
“With Callum we didn’t know what to expect when he got injured in training a couple of days ago.”
Ziyech and Hudson-Odoi’s potential returns next week means they will miss the Premier League trip to Everton on Saturday and possibly next Tuesday’s visit to Wolves.
Chelsea, meanwhile, settled for a 1-1 draw in their Champions League match against Krasnodar on Tuesday night. After Remy Cabella put the visitors ahead at Stamford Bridge, Jorginho’s penalty ensured a share of the spoils.
