Frank Lampard knows football and has all the proper qualities to be a future England manager, says former Chelsea star Branislav Ivanovic.
Frank Lampard is already proving he has what it takes to manage the England national team, says Ivanovic.
The former Blues midfielder was appointed manager at his former club following a one year stint at Derby where he narrowly missed out on promotion.
In his first season at the helm of affairs, Lampard led the Blues to the FA Cup final and guided them to a top-four finish.
This season, the Blues boss continues to strengthen his title aspirations with Chelsea tagged among the contenders for the Premier League already.
In the Champions League, Lampard has also overseen an unbeaten run this term that has taken the Blues to 15 games without a loss in all competitions.
It is no surprise the Chelsea boss is already getting praise as some of the brightest young English managers around.
Ex-Blues star and his former teammate Ivanovic is convinced Lampard can replace Gareth Southgate as England’s boss when the time comes.
“When Frank decided to become a manager, everyone who knows him knew he was going to be a success,” the 36-year-old said as quoted by the Daily Mail.
“He is the right person in the right place, not just for Chelsea. I hope he will stay at Chelsea for life, but for sure he could give to his country and be manager of the England national team.
“He knows football and has great ideas. I watch his interviews and you can see he understands the game, the things he needs to do and how to give belief to the group.
“It’s a massive job to understand football and to make the team play and work like you want. He has a good group of people around him to help him. He will be a success.”
