The new Spanish top-flight campaign will kick off with Real Madrid facing Almeria on August 14.

La Liga have announced their fixture list for the 2022-23 campaign.

Reigning champions Real Madrid will start the competition by facing newly-promoted Almeria on August 14. Their arch-rivals Barcelona will meet Rayo Vallecano on the same day.

The competition will pause for the Qatar World Cup after the 14th matchday on November 11. Teams will then resume the league on December 31.

El Clasico dates

The first La Liga El Clasico of the season will take place on October 16, when Real Madrid and Barcelona will face off at Santiago Bernabeu.

The two Spanish giants will meet again at Camp Nou on March 19.

A difficult October for Barca

Barcelona must face Real Madrid as part of their tough schedule for October.

Following the El Clasico on October 16, the Catalans must face Villarreal, Athletico Bilbao, and Valencia in their next league games until October 30.

When will the league end?

La Liga teams will have 24 league games to play after the World Cup break. Barcelona will face Espanyol on December 31, while Real Madrid will take on Valladolid on the same day.

The Spanish top-flight will then continue until its final matchday on June 4. Real Madrid and Barcelona will play against Athletic Bilbao and Celta Vigo in their last games of the campaign, respectively.
