The Norwegian star edges closer toward a Premier League move after a new twist in his transfer saga.
Erling Haaland has attracted interest from almost every elite club in Europe during the past two seasons. Since joining Borussia Dortmund in 2019, the Norway international has scored 80 goals in his 79 appearances across all competitions.
Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool are Haaland’s most serious suitors in the Premier League. The mentioned clubs are enough to start a full-on transfer race for the Norwegian. However, he also has Bayern Munich, PSG, and Barcelona closely following him. A new report claims one of the clubs interested in a move for Haaland has pulled out of the race to sign him.
According to Daily Star, Real Madrid have stopped their efforts to sign the Norwegian star. The striker’s agent Mino Raiola has reportedly informed his clients’ suitors in the Premier League of the new development. The English sides are now on ‘red alert’ as one of their biggest rivals in the race has dropped out.
Speaking last month, Haaland insisted he would soon make a decision on his next club.
“The last six months I have chosen not to say anything out of respect for Dortmund,” he said.
“but now the club has started to press me into making a decision,
“All I want to do is play football. But they press me […] about my future, so that means I have to make a decision soon.”
