In a huge revelation, the Frenchman lifted the lid on the contact he had with Liverpool before signing his new PSG contract.
Kylian Mbappe has said he talked to Liverpool ‘a little bit’ about a summer move.
The 23-year-old striker also claimed he met with the Premier League club in 2017 while at Monaco and that his mother, Fayza Lamari, is a Reds supporter.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp confirmed an interest in Mbappe last week, but ruled out a move as the club ‘cannot be part of these battles’.
Jurgen Klopp: “Of course we are interested in Kylian Mbappe, we are not blind! But we are NOT part of this Mbappé race… we can’t be part of these battles”. 🔴 #LFC #Mbappé @AnfieldWatch

Mbappe confirms Reds talks
Now, after rebuffing interest from Real Madrid to sign a new three-year deal at Paris Saint-Germain at the weekend, Mbappe has shared his side of the story.
“We talked a little bit, but not too much,” he told The Telegraph.
“I talked to Liverpool because it’s the favourite club of my mum, my mum loves Liverpool. I don’t know why, you will have to ask her.
“It’s a good club, and we met them five years ago. When I was in Monaco, I met them. It’s a big club. Of course, it was between Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain in the end.”
Mbappe also revealed in a press conference on Monday that he turned down Real Madrid for PSG because of the club’s sporting project and his desire to not leave France.
Liverpool and Real Madrid will meet in Paris this Saturday for the 2022 Champions League final.
