The French attacker reached yet another impressive career milestone in PSG’s victory over Montpellier in Ligue 1.

Kylian Mbappe scored his 100th goal for Paris Saint-Germain on Saturday and was relieved to do so, admitting it became a distraction trying to reach the century mark.

The 21-year-old came on as a second-half substitute in Montpellier on Saturday and scored in injury-time with his only attempt. It was enough to increase his tally to 100 goals and seal a 3-1 win for PSG.

Mbappe’s strike was also the first time he had scored since his brace against AS Monaco on November 20, meaning he had gone three games without finding the back of the net.

“It’s the legendary 100 mark. I’ve been thinking about it for two or three games and maybe that’s why I hadn’t scored. Maybe I thought about it too much,” Mbappe told PSG TV.

“But I I tried to focus on the team, to help my partners as much as possible and they gave it back to me really well.

“They gave me this goal, there was no goalkeeper, I scored and I I’m very happy.”

Mbappe is now PSG’s fourth-highest scorer in history, alongside Dominique Rocheteau, on 100 goals. Pauleta (109), Zlatan Ibrahimovic (156) and Edinson Cavani (200) lie ahead in the list.
