Thomas Tuchel confirmed Kylian Mbappe could return to the starting line-up for PSG’s Champions League semi-final against RB Leipzig.

Another chapter in PSG’s fabled history could be made on Tuesday night in reaching their first-ever Champions League final, with Mbappe’s return from an ankle injury handing them a timely boost.

The 21-year-old made a half hour cameo against Atalanta in the quarter-finals last week. He even assisted Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting’s 93rd-winner to secure the Parisians a 2-1 comeback victory and passage into the last four.

And now Tuchel has confirmed he could start in what will be PSG’s first semi-final in the competition since 1995 after not suffering any reaction to his injured ankle.

“Yes, he played 30 minutes against Atalanta and had no problems with his ankle,” said the PSG boss on whether Mbappe could start, as quoted on Reuters.

“Since then he has had six days to recover, he will train, and if there is the possibility for him to start we will see if can play the 90 minutes. We’ll decide if it starts or if he comes into play (from the bench).”
