Former Netherlands international Dirk Kuyt is sure about what’s coming next for Chelsea and Manchester United’s recent signings.

Dirk Kuyt played in the Premier League for six years, so it’s fair to say he knows England’s top-flight quite well. The former Liverpool forward has seen many players succeed and fail in the Premiership, therefore it’s only natural he made his prediction about Ajax’s former stars.

Hakim Ziyech and Donny Van de Beek joined the Premier League at the end of the last season after playing a huge role in Ajax’s recent achievements. However, both players have failed to make an immediate impact at their clubs. On one hand, Ziyech is still struggling at Chelsea after sustaining an injury that prevented him from starting the pre-season with his teammates. On the other hand, Van de Beek has been regularly benched due to the Pogba and Bruno Fernandes‘ brilliant performances.

Nevertheless, Dirk Kuyt believes it’s only a matter of time till the gifted players find the space they need in their squad. In fact, the Dutchman claims that both players have already proved they can compete on the highest level.

“They have performed fantastically in the Champions League, and have shown that they can compete with the absolute top of the world. Then you come to Chelsea or United and then you want to continue that. It just takes time,” Kuyt told Ziggo Sports as per Football Oranje.

“If you look at the qualities of those players, I am convinced that if they can keep the patience, they will get there. They are going to experience a very nice period there. ”
