Joachim Low has axed several prominent players from the German squad and Toni Kroos believes the manager will not bring them back.
Thomas Muller, Jerome Boateng and Manuel Neuer were integral for Bayern Munich’s success. However, the treble winners continue to look at the German team from the outside.
Joachim Low had informed the trio that they are out of consideration for the squad as he looks to rebuild the German team with youth stars.
Despite the great form shown by the experienced campaigners, Toni Kroos believes they will not be a part of the German squad.
The Bayern Munich youth academy graduate believes that Low has moved on and is looking in a different direction for future.
“Thomas played a great season, but for the national coach, it’s not just about the shape of today,” Kroos quoted by Goal. “[It’s] about [how he shapes] the project for the next few years.
“He wants to give space to players like Serge Gnabry, Leroy Sane and Kai Havertz. That’s why my feelings tell me that he will not look backwards for his selections.”
Chelsea made Havertz their second most expensive signing of all time. Kroos hailed his compatriot’s abilities and tipped him for success at the Stamford Bridge.
“Kai is of great quality,” the Real Madrid midfielder was added. “If he continues like this, he will be difficult to stop as a player.”
Germany take on the challenge of Switzerland in their next Group fixture. Die Mannschaft will look to improve on their showing against the Swiss.
