David Alaba has been linked with a summer move to Real Madrid and Toni Kroos is convinced the defender will shine in the Spanish capital.
Alaba will leave Bayern Munich on a free transfer this summer. As it stands, Real Madrid has been tipped as his next likely destination.
If the defender eventually joins Real Madrid, a figure at Los Blancos is convinced the Austrian will shine just as he did in the Bundesliga.
Alaba announced his decision to leave Bayern Munich at the end of the season last week. However, he is yet to reveal his next destination.
Many sources claim the 28-year-old is headed for the Spanish capital and it is a deal that fits for both parties.
Having played alongside Alaba while at Bayern Munich, Toni Kroos is convinced the defender will fit in La Liga.
“Here you need quality, that you are physically there, that your head can handle many situations,” Kroos told Sky Germany.
“You need more than just sporting quality.”
“I haven’t played with him for almost seven years. So it’s a little difficult for me to say how and what he thinks.”
“I’ve already read the name Alaba in connection with Real Madrid, but I don’t have any information on it now.”
“If you’re a regular at Bayern, then you definitely have the athletic quality to play at Real Madrid.”
“That’s clear, but we’ll see what will come of it in the end.”
However, Real Madrid still have competition on their hands in their bid to sign Alaba.
Spanish rivals Barcelona as well as Premier League sides Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United have also shown interest in the versatile defender.
