Los Blancos are said to be targeting two of the most talented young players on the planet as they plan to assemble their next Galacticos.

Toni Kroos refuses to be drawn into Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid talks but says he “would not be surprised” if the transfer eventually happens.

Kroos then cast doubt on Haaland’s potential move to Real Madrid saying he won’t “exactly be cheap” while hinting at the club’s recent financial crisis.

The Paris Saint-Germain forward and the Borussia Dortmund striker are widely considered as the rightful heir to the thrones of superstars Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

The former has long been linked with a move to Santiago Bernabeu while the latter is also reportedly a top target for the La Liga giants.

Should those players eventually join the club, it would likely immediately solve their attacking problems. Los Blancos have struggled to be efficient in the final third of the pitch for a while now, with Karim Benzema their only reliable goalscorer.

Quizzed about the Mbappe transfer talks during an interview with Bild, Kroos responded: “I prefer to talk about signings that have already been completed.

“But since Real always want the best, I would not be surprised [if Mbappe joins Real Madrid].

“Next to him, Haaland is definitely the most interesting player on the market, and therefore [would] not exactly [be] cheap.

“We must not forget that we are in a period where there’s not an endless flow of money and, at the same time, we are completing our stadium [which] is not free either.”
