The Bavarians snatched a narrow win to reach the top of the Bundesliga table.

Bayern Munich defeated Koln 1-0 in their Bundesliga game on Friday. The Bavarians settled for a one-goal lead despite dominating the match.

What happened?

Bayern established their dominance over possession early on, with Leroy Sane missing two golden chances to secure an early opener.

The visitors, however, finally broke the deadlock when a deadly counter-attack saw Harry Kane score his 18th Bundesliga goal from close range. The goal was followed by Koln’s reaction that forced Manuel Neuer to make a brilliant save just after the half-hour mark. However, it was Bayern who quickly regained control over the game after the break.

Kingsley Coman’s constant runs behind Koln’s backline saw Bayern make a host of goalscoring chances throughout the second period. However, Thomas Tuchel’s men had to settle for a 1-0 win as they failed to convert them.
