As the clock keeps ticking for Barcelona, Ronald Koeman keeps pushing for Memphis Depay’s arrival fromOlympique Lyonnais. The Dutch winger has been the most wanted player by his compatriot manager as they shared time in the national team. Memphis is arguably one of the best players from his country and he is considered the best option for Barcelona’s goal problems right now.
But during this stressful transfer saga, Koeman is convinced that the club is doing everything they can in order to secure his transfer. There are some obstacles they need to overcome if they want him to arrive. Perhaps the only problem is Ousmane Dembele’s possible exit to Manchester United. But Koeman remains positive in this whole situation, he thinks Depay’s arrival is still possible with a few hours left on the transfer window.

During an interview with NOS Voetbal, Ronald Koeman spoke about the wish he has of signing Memphis Depay. The manager also confirmed that the player wants to play for Barcelona and analyzed his qualities.
“We want him to come to Barcelona, he also wants this. He is an excellent player. We believe he can play as a striker but he also does a great job as a left winger. There is also a lot of strength in him, he can hold the ball very well, he always wins the duels and has a high rate of success.
“When you work well with a player, you have a good feeling with him and you think that could also work here. Due to the club’s financial situation, especially due to the federation’s control, it’s clear that a player has to leave in order for another one to come.”
