The FC Barcelona manager responded to Dani Alves’ open invitation to re-sign him on a free transfer.

Ronald Koeman claims to be unaware of any potential deal to bring Dani Alves back to Barcelona.

In a recent interview with Sport, Alves left the door open for a remarkable return. The Brazilian right-back, who spent eight glorious seasons at Camp Nou, said all the club had to do was call him.

The 38-year-old is available as a free agent after ending his contract with Brazilian side Sao Paulo last month.

But Koeman has distanced himself from this speculation, claiming that nobody at Barcelona has told him anything about re-signing Alves.

“I don’t know anything about this issue,” said Koeman about the Alves rumors in a press conference. “Nobody from the club has told me about the possibility and I don’t like to answer.”

Alves made 391 appearances across all competitions for Barcelona between 2008 and 2016. He won 14 domestic titles, three Champions League trophies, three UEFA Super Cups, and another three FIFA Club World Cups.
