Koeman reacts after Barca qualify to the round of 16

Barcelona boss Ronald Koeman was pleased to see his side record a convincing win over Dynamo Kyiv to advance to the UCL round of 16.

Ronald Koeman was delighted to see his side claim a much needed win over Dynamo Kyiv in the Champions League.

Despite resting Lionel Messi for the tip to Ukraine, it proved a comfortable evening for the Catalan giants as they strolled to a 4-0 win over Dynamo Kyiv. Another victory on continental front means Barca have won all four of their group games.

Sergino Dest’s driven effort provided the opener and Martin Braithwaite scored twice.

France striker Antoine Griezmann rounded off the scoring late on.

Given that Barca have been inconsistent in the league, Koeman was pleased to see his side do well and was particularly pleased with the performance of some youngsters.

“We met our goal, which was to pull off a good result and qualify for the round of 16.” the Barca boss told Barca TV after the game.

“The team had energy, we lacked effectiveness in the first half, but we had it in the second. And good football. We can be very happy.”

“Today, we have seen a very hungry team. We scored four goals, important players were able to rest, and the youngsters have deserved these minutes. They have delivered.”
