We still hadn’t heard from Ronald Koeman but he raged against UEFA today after the European Super League fiasco on Tuesday.

Ronald Koeman is one of the managers who remained quiet during the whole European Super League drama but he raged against UEFA today. Ahead of FC Barcelona’s match against Getafe in the Spanish La Liga, Koeman finally opened up. In his explanation about what he experienced, the gaffer told the press what he talked about with Joan Laporta.

When he started speaking about UEFA, his tone completely changed. Much like many other managers who don’t agree with their tactics, Ronald Koeman is convinced UEFA is one of football’s greater evils. This entire drama was created in order to fight against these practices that UEFA encourages on all footballers around the world. They are basically treated as pieces of meat and nobody can do anything about it.

Koeman’s rant against UEFA in full.

Marca reported the following statement from Koeman: “I spoke with the president yesterday and he explained the club’s position to me. There has been so much discussion that it is best not to give an opinion. Nobody knows what can happen and we have to wait. I want the best for the club. I am not going to answer more. I am not the spokesperson, it is always the president.

“My job is to prepare the team, but it is normal for you to ask. There is so much happening due to people’s reactions and we have to wait and see how it turns out in the end. We want the best for this club, but the president must speak. There are players who have played an incredible number of games. There is talk of the Super League, the Champions League… but UEFA ignores the players who play many games. Only money matters. Look at the fixture list, tomorrow we will play at 10:00 pm.”
