Despite an early Champions League exit, FC Barcelona can still end the season on a high with another domestic double.

Ronald Koeman believes it’s too early for Barcelona to think of winning the Copa del Rey and La Liga this season.

A 17-match unbeaten (W14 D3) has moved Barcelona to within four points of La Liga leaders Atletico Madrid in second place. The Blaugrana also have a meeting with Athletic Club in the Copa del Rey final on April 17.

But while the progress has been promising, Koeman is staying grounded.

“I don’t like to talk about winning the double,” said the Barcelona manager in a pre-match conference ahead of the club’s latest La Liga match.

“Things change very quickly. A long time ago there was nothing good. We have to keep working, game by game.

“We are four points behind, and there is very difficult schedule. There is a long way to go to win a lot of things.”

Barcelona take a trip to San Sebastian on Sunday to face fifth-placed side Real Sociedad in La Liga.

“I don’t think it’s a decisive match or the most decisive one,” said Koeman on the match.

“It’s important to win tomorrow. If we don’t win, the difference will widen. Sociedad are a very difficult opponent and they have great players. It’s a tough game.”
