During a press conference today, Ronald Koeman made a surprising analysis about FC Barcelona’s realistic situation this season.

If we are being realistic about Barcelona’s current situation, Ronald Koeman has little chance to win titles with the players he currently has. Even though the future seems bright with players like Pedri, Ansu Fati, Ronald Araujo, or Riqui Puig. Despite having Lionel Messi still playing at the highest level. This squad needs to keep a leveled head and stop dreaming about winning the biggest titles this season.

In Spain alone, Atletico Madrid seems impossible to reach in this stage in the season. European football is where things get even more complicated with several clubs playing two or three levels above Barcelona. Perhaps the manager’s opinion won’t be well-received by many club supporters but that doesn’t mean he is wrong.

Koeman sane analysis about Barcelona.

It happened during Saturday’s press conference as Barcelona get ready to play against Athletic Club Bilbao in La Liga. Sport picked up the following statement from him: “The situation is complicated because our distance in points is quite significant. In the Champions League, I don’t see a clear favorite. We have a knock-out stage against PSG that we’ll try to overcome.

“The team’s ambition is to win trophies because we are Barça, but we need to be realistic. Today, Barcelona can’t think about winning many things. We try to do it, we improve, and we keep fighting. But we have to keep it real in terms of where we are coming from and the changes we have done. Not everything can depend on a single player. Barcelona has to always remain prepared to fight but we need to remain grounded.”
