Ronald Koeman replaced the sacked Quique Setien, vacating the Netherlands’ national team managerial role for time at Camp Nou.

It is turmoil at Camp Nou. Lionel Messi has been linked with a transfer away. Quique Setien has been sacked. There is no sporting director after Eric Abidal was relieved of his duties.

Josep Maria Bartomeu is the only one who is relaxed at the moment. He has gotten down with business to save face in the last year of his presidency.

Barcelona legend, Ronald Koeman, has been welcomed back at Camp Nou by Bartomeu. He left the Netherlands’ managerial job to take over in Catalonia.

Koeman reminisced fondly about his time with the Oranje but could not say no to La Blaugrana.

“It was an honor to be the national coach of the Netherlands. Over the past two and a half years, I have done everything I can to achieve success,” TalkSPORT quoted Koeman at his appointment.

“I look back with pride on what we have achieved together in that period. The Dutch national team has a bright future, I am convinced of that.”

“Everyone knows that Barcelona is my dream club. It feels very special to me to be able to become a coach there.”
