Liverpool fans will be raising a glass to Jürgen Klopp on Sunday as he takes charge of his final game as the club’s manager against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Anfield.
Klopp, 56, will step down this summer after nearly nine seasons, during which he ended Liverpool’s 30-year wait for an English league title and won their sixth Champions League crown.
To celebrate his tenure, Carlsberg, in collaboration with German brewers Erdinger Weissbräu, has created a limited-edition beer named “Believers Brew.” This special ale pays homage to Klopp’s transformative impact on the club, inspired by his inaugural press conference remark about turning “doubters into believers.”
The commemorative beer will be a limited batch of 491 bottles, representing each official competitive match Klopp managed at Liverpool. Each bottle is uniquely numbered according to the corresponding match. For instance, bottle No. 206 commemorates the iconic 4-0 comeback against Barcelona in the 2019 Champions League semifinals, while bottle No. 208 celebrates the final itself, where Liverpool triumphed over Tottenham Hotspur to claim the trophy in Madrid.
While many bottles will celebrate historic victories, some represent less favorable memories, such as the 3-0 defeat at Watford in 2020 that ended Liverpool’s 18-game winning streak or the 7-2 loss to Aston Villa during the COVID-19 era.
The entire batch of Believers Brew will be auctioned from May 16-30, with starting bids set at £5 per bottle. All proceeds will be donated to the LFC Foundation, supporting various charitable initiatives.
Klopp’s departure marks the end of an era for Liverpool, but his legacy will live on, celebrated through this unique tribute. The limited-edition beer provides fans a chance to own a piece of history while contributing to a good cause, honoring the manager who transformed their team and brought unprecedented success back to Anfield.
