Jurgen Klopp says he may put a full stop to his management career altogether following the end of his Liverpool contract.
In less than five years’ time of arriving at the club, Jurgen Klopp woke up the sleeping giants that were Liverpool.
With the help of a carefully assembled, Klopp propelled Liverpool into being one of the mightiest not only in England but in all of Europe.
The German boss’s success in not just limited to Anfield as he has also enjoyed glorious years with Borussia Dortmund, helping them to back-to-back Bundesliga title to end Bayern Munich’s domestic supremacy.
But it appears that the 2019/20 Premier League Manager of the Season is starting to feel he has done enough as a manager.
Speaking to German publication SportBuzzer, Klopp reveals he plans on taking a one-year break after the end of his current contract with Liverpool, which runs through to 2024. And after that, if he doesn’t get the itch to return, he adds he will call time on his managerial career.
“I’ll take a year off and ask myself if I miss football. If I say no, then that will be the end of coach Jurgen Klopp,” the German tactician told when quizzed on his future.
“If one day I am no longer a coach, there is one thing I will not miss: the brutal tension immediately before the game.”
