Ahead of the return from the international break, the Liverpool boss marveled at Mohamed Salah’s impressive feats this season so far.
Jurgen Klopp rates Mohamed Salah’s stats for this season as ‘absolutely crazy’ and insists the Egyptian is one of the world’s best players – ‘no ifs or buts’.
The Liverpool man has started in the season in style, having scored nine goals in as many games across all competitions. He is also the Premier League’s joint-top scorer on six goals alongside Leicester City star Jamie Vardy. Additionally, he has chipped in three assists.
Of course, Salah’s impressive stats are no fluke either. He has regularly supplied the goals for Liverpool and won the Golden Boot twice since his arrival in 2017.
“The numbers he produces are absolutely crazy – you just have to say that. It’s madness,” Reds boss Klopp told Sky Germany.
“He is very often available for a winger because he has his body in a top position.
“Constitution holds, which is of course also necessary. And accordingly, he is definitely one of the best players in the world at the moment, no ifs or buts. And not only at the moment, but of course for a long time. He is very happy at the moment, how it works – and so do I.”
Klopp will hope Salah stays at the top of his game for Liverpool’s visit to the Claudio Ranieri-led Watford on Saturday in the Premier League.
