Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has shared his opinion on news that fans could be back at stadiums starting next week.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp says he is pleased to see fans return to stadiums but is yet to understand the rationale behind the figures around it.

We explained in our report yesterday about the details of the announcement given by UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

While fans would be allowed back in stadiums starting the 2nd of December, it won’t be in full capacity. Jurgen Klopp questions why limits have been placed on numbers of spectators set to be allowed.

Clubs will only be allowed to welcome either 50 percent of their capacity back into their stadium, or a maximum of 4,000 people – whichever number is smaller. This applies to Tier 1 areas.

Clubs in Tier 2 areas are able to hold a maximum of 2,000 fans.

The Liverpool boss gave his candid thoughts on the matter when asked about it.

“I don’t understand why you can put 2,000 people in a stadium with 60,000 [capacity], and 2,000 people in a stadium when 9,000 people would fit in,” Klopp said as quoted by Sky Sports. “I don’t understand it.”

“I don’t think it’s unfair, it’s just the situation,” he added. “It’s the world at the moment and we cannot change these kinds of things.”
