Kieran Tierney is looking forward to the prospect of facing Lionel Messi on a regular basis should he switch to the Premier League.
Tierney doesn’t mind the potential event that could see Lionel Messi swap for the Premier League.
The Barcelona captain continues to push for an exit from the club. Rumors have put Manchester City as his most likely destination should he leave the club eventually.
Tierney has come up against Messi before when playing for Celtic in the 2016/17 season.
It was a day to forget for the Scottish international as his side got hammered 7-0 on that day. A certain Argentine maestro even grabbed a hatrick.
Rather than be scared of another showdown, Tierney is relishing the challenge against Messi should he complete a switch to England.
“I kinda played him before, I was marking him but I was nowhere near him, I was miles off it,” he told Football Daily .
“I don’t know what’s going to happen with him, obviously you see the links with Man City.
“It would be the biggest challenge of my career, playing against him a couple of times a season, hopefully.”
Tierney has already enforced himself as one of the Gunners most consistent performers under Mikel Arteta.
