Former Manchester United star Roy Keane was not impressed with Harry Maguire after his goal celebration for England last night.

Roy Keane had a few harsh words for Manchester United captain Harry Maguire after his “embarrassing” goal celebration for England on Friday.

The defender took the lead for the Three Lions in their World Cup qualifying encounter against Albania at Wembley.

But he enjoyed his celebration by putting his hands to his ears, which looked as if he was shutting his critics down.

However, Keane was not pleased by his behaviour and feels that his goal has not washed off his poor performances at the club level.

During halftime talk on ITV, the former United star said: “He thinks he’s shutting the critics up. But I think It’s embarrassing.

“He’s been a disgrace the last couple of months for Man Utd. He thinks if he scores there, he’s going to shut his critics up. Embarrassing.”

Maguire had an explanation though for his celebration as he told Sky Sports after the game: “The celebration was a knee slide. It just came naturally to me.”

“It’s an amazing feeling to score for my country. It wasn’t directed at anyone. It just came naturally to do that and open the scoring for England and get the important three points.”
