The French forward is spending the final months of his current contract at Real Madrid.

Karim Benzema has reportedly reached an agreement to extend his contract at Real Madrid.

The French star last renewed his deal at Real Madrid in 2021. But his two-year deal will expire at the end of the current season.

Benzema’s incredible form in the past two seasons earned him a Ballon d’Or while helping Real Madrid add several more titles to their trophy cabinet.

The Blancos have made no secret of their interest in keeping Benzema at the club. Now it seems the two parties have finally reached an agreement over a new contract.

According to L’Equipe, Benzema and Florentino Perez have reached “verbal agreement” over the new deal. The French outlet claims the 35-year-old’s new contract runs until 2024.

Benzema has struggled with several fitness issues this season, making only 15 La Liga appearances. However, his crucial leadership at the heart of Real Madrid’s attacking line has convinced the club to continue to keep him at Santiago Bernabeu.

“I’m here, enjoying every training session and every match,” Benzema told Athletic in January. “For me, it’s year by year.

“I can’t tell you how long I’m going to stay, I can tell you that I enjoy every day in Madrid.

“I’m at Real Madrid. Talking about renewal is another matter. I enjoy it, like any other player who can play for Madrid.

“What happens in football we don’t know. I’m here and tomorrow we have another final.”
