The Blues midfielder assessed the club’s top-four hopes in the Premier League after settling for a draw at Leeds United.

N’Golo Kante expects the Premier League top-four race will go right down to the wire after Chelsea’s 0-0 draw in Leeds.

The Blues extended their unbeaten start under Thomas Tuchel on Saturday afternoon to 12 games in all competitions in Yorkshire and kept a ninth clean sheet.

But while Chelsea remain fourth in the league table, West Ham are three points behind in fifth and with two games in hand. Everton, Tottenham, and Liverpool could also still launch a challenge for Champions League qualification.

“There are many teams and we need to play against a lot of opponents who are fighting for the top four,” Kante told the club’s website.

“It will be a good fight until the end of the season.”

The French midfielder, meanwhile, had another impressive game. He had 106 touches of the ball, made four clearances, three chances for his teammates, and more.

Nevertheless, Kante felt the goalless stalemate at Leeds was a fair outcome and sees it as a point gained rather than two points lost.

“It was a hard game,” said the 29-year-old.

“There was a lot of intensity and chances for both sides, so in the end I think it was a fair result.

“It’s one point for us, and we need to appreciate that because it could have been worse. When you cannot win, at least to take one point is something good because it can help for the future.

“We’re still unbeaten and we didn’t concede again, so we need to look forward now.”
