Struggling to reach his usual standards this season, the England international produced another dull display on Sunday.
Nuno Espirito Santo is not losing sleep over Harry Kane’s goal drought as he suggests his No. 10 will be back among the goals sooner rather than later.
Kane, after being unable to open his goalscoring account in the 2021-22 Premier League campaign in his first five games, yet again failed to find the target in Tottenham’s match against Aston Villa on Sunday.
Fortunately for Spurs, lady luck was on their side as a late own goal by Matt Targett helped them return to winning ways after suffering three successive losses in the league.
“He worked very well for the team,” Nuno said about Kane, who is on his longest scoreless streak in the English top-flight since 2015-16, speaking to Sky Sports.
“It [the first goal] will come. We are aware we have been through a tough moment.
“When the players gel and combine they can do very good. We have to find the balance between the defensive and attacking part of the game.
“This is our focus, what can we do to improve?”
