The Germany international had a hand in both of Chelsea’s goals in the club’s 2-0 win over Bournemouth.
Kai Havertz has credited the ‘freedom’ he enjoys under Chelsea manager Graham Potter as the reason for his good performance.
The 23-year-old delivered one of his finest games in the Blues jersey on Tuesday, scoring one goal and assisting Mason Mount for the other to seal a 2-0 victory against Bournemouth.
“He gives me the freedom to do whatever I feel comfortable on the pitch,” Havertz told Amazon Prime Sport about Potter’s influence. “I like to play free and to be in the box. He gives me a lot of confidence.
“The win and the goals hopefully will [help]. It’s an important win, and we have to keep on winning. We need the points, and we’ll give it our best in the coming games.”
Havertz and Mount’s goals ended a five-match winless streak (D2 L3) in the Premier League for Chelsea.
Potter, who replaced Thomas Tuchel in September, will next take his eighth-placed side to City Ground on Sunday to face Nottingham Forest.
