The Bianconeri have stepped up their efforts to add a new centre-back to their squad this summer.

Juventus are on the verge of signing Gleison Bremer from Torino ahead of the next season.

Inter pushed hard to reach an agreement with Torino over Bremer. However, Juventus’ late efforts seem to have won them a crucial transfer race.

According to Goal, Juventus will pay an initial fee of €42m for the 25-year-old, with another €5m in add-ons.

Bremer was also among Bayern Munich‘s defensive targets last summer. However, the Bavarians preferred to finalize a deal for Juve’s Matthijs de Ligt.

Juventus will pay a salary of around €5m to Bremer, who has already bid farwell to his Torino teammates. A move for Bremer comes after weeks of speculations about De Ligt’s replacement at the Allianz Stadium.

The Bianconeri had Villarreal’s Pau Torres, Arsenal’s Gabriel, and Fiorentina’s Nikola Milenkovic as their main candidates to replace De Ligt.

Bremer seemed to be on his way to Inter while Liverpool were also monitoring the Brazilian star’s situation. However, Juve managed to hijack the deal, securing a transfer for one of Serie A’s best centre-backs.

Since joining Torino from Atletico Mineiro in 2018, Bremer has made 110 appearances for the Turin side. Let’s see if he can become a new leading voice in Juve’s backline next season.
