Manchester United’s initial bid of €30 million for Douglas Costa’s services was rejected by Juventus, who are holding out for more.
Serie A champions, Juventus have rejected a €30 million bid from Manchester United for Brazillian forward Douglas Costa.
Manchester United are still yet to make any additions to their senior squad ahead of the upcoming Premier League season.
According to Independent, the Old Lady are expecting around €40 million for the former Bayern Munich attacker.
United are targeting Costa as an alternative wide option for Jadon Sancho. The England international’s move from Borussia Dortmund looks increasingly unlikely and United are looking at other options.
Costa, who will be 30 in September, has not really impressed at Juventus since the Turin club made his signing permanent in 2018.
According to Corriere Dello Sport, Manchester United have made contact with Costa’s representatives about a possible transfer. Negotiations seem to have broken down as both teams are yet to agree on a price to seal the deal.
The 29-year-old has scored ten goals and provided 21 assists in 101 games for Juventus. His contract with Juventus will expire in 2022.
