After falling out of favor with Juventus, the midfielder is expected to complete a return to his homeland.
Sami Khedira is on the verge of completing a free transfer to Hertha BSC from Juventus before Monday’s transfer deadline passes.
The former Real Madrid midfielder hasn’t played at all for Juventus since a brief comeback from injury in June 2020. Knee and abductor problems have kept him sidelined for long spells over the past year.

Now German outlet Kiker has reported that Khedira took a medical on Sunday after arriving in Berlin over the weekend. He is set to sign a short-term contract until June on a free transfer.
The 33-year-old’s experience and leadership are expected to prove a useful asset for Hertha’s young squad as they attempt to avoid relegation in the Bundesliga.
“We are talking to him [Khedira], there are a few things to clear up and a few questions to answer before Monday,” Hertha CEO Carsten Schmidt confirmed to Sky Sunday.
Hertha have also dropped a hint on their Twitter page that an announcement on Khedira’s arrival is imminent.
