A World Cup-winning midfielder’s stay at the Allianz Stadium is coming to a close and he hints that could be on his way to Tottenham.

Juventus’ Sami Khedira is set to become a free agent at the end of the season with his contract expiring in the summer of 2021.

The German has been in and out of the team ever since his arrival five years ago and his role has even further reduced under new boss Andrea Pirlo, with form and fitness to be blamed.

With the former Real Madrid man yet to play a single minute so far in this campaign, doubts are being raised as to whether he is in Pirlo’s future plans for the club.

The answer appears to be negative as things stand currently with no urgency shown by Juve regarding his contract extension.

Amid the uncertainty, Khedira hints he could join Tottenham as he seeks to reunite with former Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho.

Asked why he rates Mourinho so highly, Khedira responded to Sky Germany: “Because of his personality, he is always honest, direct, clear in his mind and a great coach.

“Many people talk about him [being] too defensive but he is a winner, he is a champion. That is why he impressed me the most.

“I would never say no again to Jose Mourinho but it is not the only guy who I would say I would like to work with again.”
