After Andrea Pirlo’s latest decision on Cristiano Ronaldo, one of Juventus’ biggest legends decided to praise him in the media.

Andrea Pirlo might be criticized for the way he does many things at Juventus, but not for the way he handles Cristiano Ronaldo. One of the club’s biggest legends just offered his opinion on the manager resting the Portuguese star. It was a game where the Bianconeri could’ve easily lost against Lazio but Pirlo still made a tough call. He decided to leave Cristiano on the bench and use several substitutes from the start.

After the 90 minutes, he got the result he expected and rested many of his most important players for tomorrow’s game. Make no mistake, Juventus is mostly trying to win the UEFA Champions League above every other tournament. This is what the club promised to Ronaldo when he arrived and that’s what Pirlo is trying to do. He just got praised for doing this by none other than Alessandro del Piero, who is the biggest Bianconeri legend.

Del Piero thinks Juventus will be stronger.

For Del Piero, winning the UEFA Champions League is a luxury he only got to experience once despite reaching the final several times. As a player, losing that final match was increasingly frustrating for him but he still keeps rooting for the club of his life. “I didn’t expect their reaction because Juventus have been struggling physically over the last few weeks,” Del Piero told Sky Sport Italia. “It was a smart move by both Pirlo and him. Juventus won without six starters.

“They rested, so they are ready to play now. Lazio had a great start, but Juventus fought back. They were consistent and that’s great news considering their next game against Porto. Juventus will need a perfect game. Chiesa’s goal in Portugal turned things around for Juve, but if Porto keep the same intensity of the first leg, it will be hard for the Bianconeri. It will be challenging, but they are in a good moment. Juventus had dropped a little, but they seem to have recovered now.”
