Arsenal’s plot to sign Thomas Partey just got harder with the latest reports claiming Juventus have also registered interest in the midfielder.
Over the past few weeks, Thomas Partey has been linked with a summer move to the Gunners.
The Atletico Madrid star is reportedly on Mikel Arteta’s wish-list with the Spaniard looking to bolster his midfield options.
Partey has a 50m release clause in his contract and it’s reported that the Spanish side will only listen to offers that match that amount.
In fact, Arsenal’s recent offer of £22.5m plus Matteo Guendouzi was rejected. However, the Gunners now have more to worry about.
Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport claim that Juventus have now registered serious interest in Partey and are ready to hijack a deal for him over Arsenal.
The report also indicates the player himself is ‘very interested’ in the move to Italy should the opportunity arise.
The Old Lady are seeking reinforcements in the defensive midfield area after Blaise Matuidi departed to join David Beckham’s Inter Miami.
New Juventus boss Andres Pirlo is said to be keen to have Partey in his midfield alongside Arthur and Rodrigo Bentancur next season.
It could now be a case of who offers more for the midfielder with Atletico only looking to accept cash.
On the path of Arsenal, summer moves will depend on the club offloading fringe stars like Matteo Guendouzi, Lucas Torreira, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, and Shokran Mustafi.
