According to the latest reports making the rounds, Juventus are in talks with Sassuolo over the signing of highly-rated Manuel Locatelli.
Juventus have opened talks with fellow Serie A side Sassuolo over a deal to sign Italy midfielder Manuel Locatelli.
Juve sporting director Fabio Paratici has been a keen follower of the 23-year-old since he broke through the ranks at Milan five years ago.
Following his recent performances for club and country, Juventus are now ready to go all out for Locatelli.
As per Goal Italy, the Bianconeri will have to ward off interest for the player’s signature. However, they are hopeful that by moving quickly, they can tie up the move and avoid a bidding war for his services. Sassuolo will reportedly ask for a fee of around €40m.
The Covid-19 pandemic has impacted on clubs’ finances across the globe, meaning big-money transfers will be increasingly difficult to achieve this summer.
Regardless, Juve are confident they will be able to strike a deal with Sassuolo for Locatelli that meets their valuation.
Any fee is likely to be spread over several years to ease the immediate financial burden. Also, there is a possibility that youngsters Gianluca Frabotta and Nicolo Fagioli could also be offered in part-exchange to push through the deal.
