Juventus have been dealt a major blow following news that defender Leonardo Bonucci picked up an injury in training.

According to a report, Leonardo Bonucci is expected to be on the sidelines for a while.

The Juventus defender suffered an injury while in training and could be out for the next three weeks.

Bonucci did travel with the Juventus squad to face Porto in the Champions League on Wednesday. However, he would now be watching from the sidelines after his latest injury.

Italian outlet Il Corriere dello Sport claims the defender will miss the action for the next 20 days at least.

The veteran defender adds to the Bianconeri’s injury list, with Cuadrado and Arthur recently joining the treatment table.

In the absence of Bonucci, Andrea Pirlo has Merih Demiral, Matthijs de Ligt, and Giorgio Chiellini to call upon for the game against Porto.

The report also claims Weston McKennie and Alvaro Morata are still struggling physically but are deemed fit enough to play against Porto regardless.

Bonucci is now expected to return for Juventus in the home game against Lazio on March 6. If not, he could make his return in the return leg against Porto three days later.

So far this season, the 33-year-old has been a regular for Andrea Pirlo, making 25 total appearances and amassing over 2000 minutes of action.
