Having dropped to free agency at the start of this month, the Italy captain is free to discuss his transfer with other clubs.

Juventus are yet to open contract extension talks with Giorgio Chiellini, informs the player’s agent Davide Lippi.

Chiellini has been a reliable servant for Juventus for the last 17 seasons. He has made over a half-a-century of appearances during that time while winning 20 major honors, including nine successive Serie A titles.

The 36-year-old had been on international duty for the last two months, helping Italy to Euro 2020 glory with his impressive performances at the back.

However, as things stand, the center-back won’t be staying at the Allianz Stadium for an 18th consecutive term.

“It takes two to sign a contract,” agent Davide Lippi told Radio Radio.

“Giorgio went to the Euros and focused exclusively on that. There’s no problem with Juventus, we said we’d meet up later in the summer, but we haven’t yet sat down to discuss a renewal.

Asked about offers from other clubs, Lippi replied: “They’d have to make the offer first.

“As of today, there is nobody. We are waiting for Juventus to tell us when we can sit down and have a chat.”
