It was feared the veteran defender could miss up to two weeks of action after he limped off in the first half of the last-16 tie.
Giorgio Chiellini has avoided a serious injury, Juventus confirmed on Thursday.
Chiellini could only last on the pitch for 35 minutes in Juventus’ 2-1 defeat against Porto in the Champions League last-16 first-leg clash on Wednesday night.
In visible discomfort after picking up a knock, the center-back had to be subbed off and was replaced by 22-year-old Merih Demiral.
Reports claimed that the 36-year-old could face a spell of up to two weeks on the sideline after sustaining what appeared to be a serious injury in his right calf.
However, Juventus have now clamed those fears.
A statement on the official club website read: “Giorgio Chiellini underwent radiological examinations at J|Medical this morning, which excluded muscle injuries to his right calf.
“His condition will be monitored day by day.”
The news comes as a huge relief for Juventus, especially considering that Leonardo Bonucci is also out injured and could remain away from action for the next 20 days.
