The Bianconeri faced a brave SPAL this Wednesday night at the Coppa Italia quarter-finals. Although the Serie B side were hardly the favorites to win the fixture, the Biancazzurri battled it out with Juve as much as they could. In fact, SPAL even managed to create a bit of danger from time to time, although Buffon was mainly a spectator of the game.

Andrea Pirlo decided to give Cristiano Ronaldo some rest this Wednesday as some more difficult challenges are quickly approaching. Therefore, the player was left out of the 23 player squad for Coppa Italia.

The Bianconeri always looked quite comfortable on the pitch, so the match was bound to end the way it did. It didn’t take long for Juve to put themselves in the lead as Rabiot went down in the penalty box. Since there was no Ronaldo to put the ball in the net, Morata took the responsibility with a simple but effective shot.

Juventus increased the lead after a wonderful individual effort from 20-year-old Kulusevski. There is little doubt that Ranieri will be having nightmares with the Swedish player after two horribly failed tackles. Moreover, Kulusevski took his time and cleverly assisted Frabotta who scored his first goal for the Bianconeri.

Chiesa spread his magic on the pitch.

Federico Chiesa came onto the pitch in the middle of the second half to put an end to whatever hopes SPAL could still have. The 23-year-old Italian looked very lively on the pitch and took advantage of Tomovic’s mistake to provide Kulusevski with a well-deserved goal.

However, Chiesa wasn’t done yet. The player was hungry for a goal and got his wish in the final minute of the fixture. The forward ‘stole’ the ball from debutant De Graca and put it past the goalkeeper in an effortless way.

Additionally, Juventus will now face Inter Milan at the Coppa Italia semi-finals. The Nerazzurri beat AC Milan in a dramatic fashion last Tuesday with a late winner.
