Allianz Stadium was the place where Juventus got a visit from Parma in midweek’s Serie A fixture. We have the player ratings.
Cristiano Ronaldo was deeply frustrated this evening despite Juventus’ victory against Parma at Allianz Stadium. As the Bianconeri go through the middle of a complicated week with the whole European Super League fiasco. They had to win tonight’s match in order to keep their hopes of getting the second spot in Serie A secured this season. Although the title is not looking as certain, it’s still mathematically possible for them to lift it. Cristiano also wants the tournament’s top-scorer award, which would be his first since he arrived in Italy.
At the start of the game, Colombi saved the most evident chance Cristiano had in the entire game. Plus, the Portuguese star was mildly responsible for Parma’s opening goal during a free-kick. Brugman’s shot passed through the exact place where Ronaldo’s head should’ve been in the barrier. But the staar ducked right as the ball came towards him. All Juventus fans were outraged online for this evident mistake from Cristiano.
Sandro and De Ligt save Juventus.
The unsung hero for Juventus was someone nobody expected due to his position on the pitch: Alex Sandro. With the equalizer during the first half and the winner in the second, that was more than enough for Juventus to get the three points against Parma. Matthijs de Ligt also scored the third in an atypical night for Juventus’ defenders at Allianz Stadium.
As far as Cristiano Ronaldo goes, the Portuguese star even got booked for showing his frustration as he realized he wouldn’t score tonight. Hopefully, he can score another goal in the next match Juventus has to play next Sunday against Fiorentina. For now, Cristiano will have to withstand all the criticism that’s coming his way for not celebrating the victory with his teammates.
