Let’s take a look at the Serie A Player Ratings from the showdown between Juventus and Bologna over at the Allianz Stadium in Turin.

Cristiano Ronaldo bagged his fourth assist of the season to help Juventus return to winning ways in Serie A by beating Bologna 2-0.

Fresh from last week’s Italian Super Cup success, the Bianconeri took just 15 minutes to take the lead. Ronaldo laid the ball in the middle for Arthur Melo, who smashed home a deflected effort into the back of the net. It was the Brazilian’s first goal for the club since his summer transfer from Barcelona.

The strike proved the difference in an otherwise scrappy first-half. Bologna had chances to score, but the visitors were wasteful in front of goal and rarely challenged Wojciech Szczesny.

A brilliant double save from goalkeeper Skorupski to deny Ronaldo and Bernardeschi, however, kept Bologna in the game. The Pole also superbly denied Juan Cuadrado in a one-on-one situation.

Both sides continued to have their fair share of chances after half-time. Szczesny, for one, had to react quickly to deny debutant Adama Soumaoro’s headed effort. The Juventus keeper also prevented Musa Barrow and Riccardo Orsolini’s efforts.

The 30-year-old’s Bologna counterpart, Skorupski, wasn’t to be undone though. He stopped Cuadrado and Alvaro Morata from scoring before Weston McKennie finally ended his resistance in goal.

The American headed in from a corner-kick to double Juventus’ lead and effectively seal all three points in Turin.
