Juventus Stadium in Turin was the place where AS Roma visited the Bianconeri on Saturday for a crunch match. We have the player ratings.

Juventus was fourth in the Serie A table before facing AS Roma today at Juventus Stadium. The Bianconeri urgently needed a win if they wanted to keep climbing positions on their way to the top. But the Roman squad was going to battle until the final minutes of tonight’s match despite playing as visitors. During the first half of the game, Cristiano Ronaldo made his appearance one day after his birthday to celebrate with a goal. Alvaro Morata set him up for a clinical shot that gave Juventus the early advantage.

Despite turning 26 yesterday, Cristiano still plays like he is 25 years old with the same speed as always. He was a constant headache against AS Roma throughout the whole 90 minutes but this was only the first of many games yet to come for Juventus. Andrea Pirlo knows that he can’t use Ronaldo as regularly as he wants, the veteran is risking an injury if he plays all the minutes. However, AS Roma was one of the most important games of the next two weeks.

Juventus get more comfortable on the scoreboard.

After the break, Juventus found the second goal thanks to Kulusevski, who provoked an own goal early in the second half. Just like that, the Bianconeri had that comfortable edge they needed in order to control the remainder of the match. On the downside, Leonardo Bonucci had to leave the pitch with an evident muscular injury that we’ll assess as soon as there’s new information about it.

With these three points, Juve reaches 42 and takes the third spot on the Serie A table. But they still have one less match than the rest of their competitors against Napoli, a suspended game from October last year. If they defeat the Southern squad, they can move one point behind their closest opponent on the table: AC Milan.
