The narrow win wasn’t enough for PSG to lead the Group H table.

Paris Saint-Germian defeated Juventus 2-1 in their Champions League game on Wednesday. Nuno Mendes was the Parisians’ super-sub in a deserved victory over Juve.

A bitter end for Juve!

The visitors started the game with a great tempo, scoring the winner only 13 minutes in.

Following an assist from Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe dribbled past two Juve defenders before unleashing a precise low shot from behind the box.

Juventus pushed for an immediate equalizer but had to wait until the 39th minute to get back into the game.

Joan Cuadrado turned Filip Kostic’s searching cross into a brilliant assist for Leonardo Bonucci. The Italy international then easily converted the tap-in to make it 1-1 for the hosts.

However, PSG found their rhythm again as soon as the second period started. Nuno Mendes went on to score the winner for the Parisians only seconds after he came in to replace Juan Bernat.

Mbappe completed his brilliant performance by providing a through ball for Mendes, who smashed it past the keeper in a one-on-one situation.

Despite their victory, PSG qualified for the knock-out stage as the runner-ups. Elsewhere in the group, Benfica managed to secure the top spot by beating Maccabi Haifa.
