Napoli and Juventus drew 1-1 in their Serie A game on Thursday. Juventus dropped points at home while Napoli slipped five points behind second-placed Milan.

Napoli started the game with surprising confidence despite having several players out with COVID-19. The Partenopei dominated the game in the first thirty minutes while Juventus mainly remained in their own half. Following an assist from Matteo Politano, Napoli got their first goal through Dries Mertens in the 23rd minute.
Juventus gained possession after Napoli’s opener. However, their lack of creativity up front prevented them from creating serious chances.
The Bianconeri showed significant signs of improvement as soon as they found their feet in the second half. Massimiliano Allegri’s side scored the equalizer through a precise low show from Federico Chiesa in the 54th minute.
Both sides pushed to get the match-winner throughout the second half. However, they stayed too cautious of their opponents’ counter-attacks, with the game ending in a 1-1 draw.
Juventus continued their seven-game unbeaten run while remaining in fifth place on the table. The Bianconeri will face Roma in their next game Sunday.
On the other hand, Napoli fell five points behind Milan after the Rossoneri won their match against Roma. Next up for Luciano Spalletti’s side is a game against Sampdoria.
