History was made on Sunday as the Bianconeri were beaten by Gli Stregoni, and deservedly so, for the very first time in their history.

Juventus lose more ground in the Serie A title following the 1-0 defeat at the hands of Benevento on Sunday.

Andrea Pirlo’s men failed to leapfrog AC Milan and climb up to second in the standings, and now find themselves 10 points behind leaders Inter Milan.

It was Adolpho Gaich who put a dent on the hosts’ hopes of a 10th straight Scudetto. The striker drilled the ball into the back of the net after escaping a weak challenge from Danilo to punish Arthur, who made a terrible pass across the penalty area, for his blunder.

Cristiano Ronaldo, who received a “GOAT” jersey before the kick-off, opened the scoring at the 38-minute mark but the goal was disallowed for offside. Ronaldo had a couple of more chances but it appeared he had taken off his shooting boots after being denied a goal.

Juve were given a penalty after Federico Chiesa went down inside the box on Daam Foulon’s challenge. However, the referee had a change of mind after a VAR review and overturned his penalty decision.
