After the 2-1 away victory in the semifinal’s first-leg, Juventus only had to protect the result against Inter Milan at home. But this defensive nature is not running through Cristiano Ronaldo’s veins, he wants to always go on the attack and win. From the first minute of the game, the Portuguese forward was determined to score at least one goal but he wasn’t expecting a brilliant Handanovic to deny him so much.
Throughout the 90 minutes, the Inter goalie stopped Cristiano five times to leave him completely frustrated. The Nerazzurri remained alive until the final minute due to their goalkeeper’s heroics but their attack simply wasn’t on point tonight. Lautaro Martinez and Romelu Lukaku didn’t have any fortune in front of a brilliant Juventus defensive line. Plus, the Bianconeri dominated ball possession during the majority of the game at Allianz Arena.
Juventus to play Napoli or Atalanta.
After this result with no goals thanks to Handanovic, Juventus kept their first-leg advantage and advanced to the Coppa Italia final. We will get to know if their rival will be Atalanta or Napoli tomorrow after both sides play in Bergamo. For those who don’t remember, last week’s result between these two squads was a goalless draw.
Juventus will have a chance to win another trophy this season, the first of the 2020-21 season if they win this final. Little by little, Andrea Pirlo’s squad is starting to feel more comfortable with the new system and dominate their opponents. Inter Milan never seemed to have a chance against the Bianconeri this evening, they were simply the lesser squad.
